You have to see it to believe it!
This past Sunday I performed magic in Seattle's Moisture Festival. Quite an event. Celebrating fifteen years; nearly four weeks of shows the likes of which you will not soon forget. Maybe never. A live band rounds out these two hours of top comedy and variety acts from around the world. All in the mold of the Ed Sullivan show on TV. Each act does an 8 – 10 minute set.
(Two weeks remain, and if you've never been, do yourself a favor and go.)
The emcee introduced me with the following joke. Anyone who knows me, knows that I'm not a joke kind of person, but this one made me laugh, so I'm passing it a long.
This joke comes from the wyrdwonders website. There are more there, but this is my favorite.
“What’s your father’s occupation?” asked the teacher on the first day of the new academic year.
“He’s a magician, Ma’am,” said the new boy.
“How interesting. What’s his favorite trick?”
“He saws people in half.”
“Gosh! Now, next question. Any brothers or sisters?”
“One half brother and two half sisters.”
Most shows take place at Hale's Palladium; a repurposed warehouse that is now a year round, 300 seat theater. I've performed at private parties and corporate events in this very same space. Last Wednesday in the audience was an Art's Presenter from Eureka Montana who'd, several years ago, booked me to perform as part of a series at their local theater. Yesterday there were friends and business owners from Port Townsend;-)
These next two weekends feature some of my favorite performers (and friends). NANDA and Avner the Eccentric to name just two. I won't dare to use words to describe what you'll see. I'm only human, and sure to fall short.
